Description

Hydrometallurgical decomposition for the selective extraction of metals from various feedstocks plays an important role in metallurgy and is used extensively worldwide. The feedstocks can be primary raw materials such as ores or secondary raw materials such as residues from primary extraction or scrap. An important advantage of hydrometallurgy is the low energy requirement, as the processes take place at low temperatures. Another important advantage is the possibility to treat low concentrated resources because valuable metals can be extracted selectively.
